Configure Controller
Besides providing a
communication path between the LAN and the smart modules, there are three main
tasks that the controller performs.
Each of these tasks may be configured from this dialog.
Automated Tasks (Program)
A script is downloaded to the
controller that specifies the automated tasks. The script determines how the outputs are to be set, based
on the values of the inputs and outputs.
More information about automated tasks and scripting is available under
the section titled “Programming.”
This dialog allows you to turn
the automated tasks on or off, and to peek at the current values of the inputs
and outputs used by the script.
Stop : stops
the automated tasks.
Run : starts
the automated tasks.
Peek : displays
the current values of the inputs and outputs used by the script.
Advance : invokes the “Configure Code” dialog that is used to compose
and download the scrip to the controller.
Data Logging
Each controller has the
capability to log the input and output values. The values that are logged are accessed by their names (see
“Named Values” in the section titled “Concepts.”) Data logging activities by the
controller is configured by the Configure Log
dialog. Besides PC data logging,
iNetGrow allows data logging on the PC (see Data
Logging on the PC and Data Logging.)
Time Base
Each controller has a
battery-backed clock and calendar.
The controller clock may be set to that of the PC by clicking on the
button “Set to PC time.” The time
base is used in periodically polling data for the automated tasks and for the
time stamps on the data logged by the controller.
