Configure
Controller Code
The “Configure Controller Code”
dialog has an edit window where you may type in a program. Programs are instructions written as a
script and saved by the controller.
See the section “Programming” for more
information about automated tasks.
The section “Script Syntax” is a useful guide
in writing the script.
The dialog buttons are organized
under three groups.
Program execution
By clicking on the buttons, you
may start or stop program execution.
The “Peek” button lets you view the current values of the variables and
parameters used by the program (see “Peek Dialog”).
Operations
These buttons allow you to load
a script file from disk or write the script file in the editor to disk. You may also read the current program
on the controller and view it in the edit window, or download the program in
the edit window to the controller.
The “Code Wizard” is a tool that assists you in composing a new program
script.
Controller time
Each controller has an
independent battery-backed clock and calendar. The automated tasks use the clock to periodically read the
inputs and generate the outputs.
Moreover, the current time and date are system variables, which may be
used in a program script. Such
system variables allow you to implement time-based tasks. For example, if you want to turn a
sprinkler on for 10 minutes every hour, the program would read the current
minutes and decide if the sprinkler output should be turned on or off. You may synchronize the time of the
controller with the PC time by clicking on the button in this group.
